Armerane is the latest in a line of a family renowned for their contributions to the science of demonology; the study of what demons are, how to fight them off, and in some cases even control them. What intrigued Armerane, however, and what he plans to make his name famous for, is the idea of coexistence. In his observations, demons are only different from natural beings in physiology. In mind, they are every bit like a typical creature or person, motivated through hunger and shaped by their environment. He figures that anything that can form a contractual bond can just as easily form an emotional one.
As a general person, Armerane is a very emotional and outgoing kid who, though confident in who he is, is still trying to discover himself in terms of just what he's capable of. He's very quick to put the needs of others before himself as a result, both eager to make a name for himself, and not seeing as much value in himself as others see in him. He does at least have a distinct awareness of this habit, however, and as a result places his trust in the word of his friends, most of all the girl across the street, Lunella Kensida. Should he have to defend himself, he has access to the tools of a summoner's trade in his riftcaller dagger, and his spellbook. On their own, they're a particularly heavy bludgeon and a serviceable sharp implement, but together he becomes capable of summoning forth pieces of demons imbued with elemental magic, with his most trusted demon being Detz, an avian creature that allows him access to temporary flight and strong, piercing talons.
